Urban Equestrian started out as a blog about the improbable pursuit of horseback riding in New York City, but it has evolved to become about following my dream of working with horses.

It follows the story of my return to horseback riding after a nearly decade-long absence.

It chronicles my transition from a lifelong English rider to a reining-obsessed Western rider.

It is about discovering what is most important in life and pursuing that with focus. It’s about trying to find balance–across all aspects of life–but most particularly between pursuing one’s passions and trying to make a living.
